Services

Paid marketing, everywhere the buying decision now starts.

Search, social, and increasingly the AI assistants people ask instead of searching. I run the campaigns, measure them so the numbers match your accounting, and step in on the day they fall apart.

Paid Media

Google Ads & Meta

Performance rescue

ROAS halved in three weeks and nobody can say why. I find what actually changed — tracking, auction dynamics, feed, a platform update, seasonality or your own last deploy — and tell you what to do about it. Usually a matter of days.

Positioning in AI assistants

More and more buying journeys start by asking ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity instead of typing a query. I work both sides of that channel: the paid placements as they open up, and the organic side — making sure yours is the business these systems name when someone asks about your category.

AI enablement · Workshops & training

Your team runs the campaigns. I build the system that lets them.

Most teams want the same thing: to understand and steer their own accounts without waiting for someone else's report. I set up an AI-assisted system inside your company so your team manages and analyses Google Ads and Meta themselves and pulls any report they need — and I train them to use it. For the genuinely complex questions, you bring me back in.

Talk about a workshop

Remote workshops

Live sessions with your marketing team, worked through on your own accounts and your own data. Half-day or full-day, in German, English or Spanish.

Online training programmes

Shorter sessions spread over several weeks, so the team applies each step to live campaigns before the next one. Best when the goal is a lasting change in how you work.

Implementation support

I build the system alongside your team — prompts, guardrails, data access and reporting — and stay reachable while it beds in.

Approach

Three ways to put me to work.

Pick the one that matches where you are. Most engagements start with the first and move to the second or third.

Consulting & audits

A focused engagement. I audit what you have, tell you plainly what's broken and what it's costing you, and hand over a prioritised plan your team can execute without me.

Outsourced head of online marketing

I take the strategic seat you haven't filled. I set direction, brief and steer your agencies and freelancers, and own the numbers you report upwards — at a fraction of a senior hire.

Training & enablement

Workshops and training programmes that leave your team handling the routine reporting and analysis themselves, supported by an AI-assisted system I set up with them. For the more complex questions, you bring me back in.

Capacity

One contact, a network behind it. When a project needs depth outside my own specialism, or more hands than I have, I bring in people I've worked with for years: specialists from the other SEM disciplines, and developers for tracking implementations and site changes. You keep one point of contact and one person accountable for the result.

Selected work

What the work has actually produced.

Client names stay confidential. The numbers don't.

B2B · DACH

A B2B office products supplier that had outgrown its own ad account

The account had been built for a much smaller catalogue and was bidding on everything equally. I rebuilt the structure around product margin, separated brand from generic demand, and rewrote the shopping feed so the profitable ranges could actually compete. Online sales grew 80% to €2 million within twelve months.

Travel · LATAM

A tourist car rental competing against international booking portals

Portals were outspending them on every generic term. We moved budget toward intent that portals underserve — route, vehicle class and season — and rebuilt tracking so bids followed completed reservations rather than form fills. Reservations doubled over eighteen months while cost per lead fell 25%.

Healthcare · LATAM

A private clinic with no online marketing at all

Starting from nothing: positioning, site, tracking, paid search and a booking flow that fed the clinic's own scheduling system. Within six months the system had generated more than 500 million CLP in turnover — around US$545,000 — and the clinic could read exactly which treatments were driving it.

About

In digital marketing since 2012, independent since 2015 — and a strong preference for being the person who is actually accountable for the number.

I hold a Master's degree in Economics and Informatics — a long way of saying I'm equally at home in a P&L and in a data layer. I have worked in digital marketing since 2012 and advised companies from the outside since 2015: B2B suppliers, e-commerce brands, service businesses and clinics.

I work remotely, in German, English and Spanish — which in practice means clients wherever those three languages sell. When a project genuinely needs someone in the room, I travel.

What clients tell me they value is unglamorous: a result-focused approach, and communication that is easy and fast. You write, you get an answer.

In their words.

Google review ★★★★★
The best thing I could have done was to stop calling Google agents directly and hire Zechlin Consulting. Very professional, and an excellent return on investment.

I got to know Tilmann as an outstanding Online Marketing and AdWords professional. He not only stayed on top of recent developments in the Online Marketing industry, but also found unorthodox and intelligent solutions for new problems. I can recommend him to anyone.
Thomas Fuchs-Martin — former direct manager
LinkedIn recommendation · 2017
He was in charge of all the online strategy for our company on the German market. His knowledge in SEM and SEO is very high and his vision has always been relevant to develop our business. Tilmann is results orientated and likes to work according to clear objectives.

Questions

The things people ask before the first call.

What do I actually get from working with a consultant?
Direct access to senior experience. The person who answers your email is the person who changed the bid strategy, so a decision takes one step instead of three. Where a company already works with an agency, I usually sit on the client side: setting direction, reviewing the work and owning the numbers you report upwards.
Which channels do you work with?
Google Ads across Search, Shopping and Performance Max; Meta; positioning in AI assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, both paid and organic; and the analytics layer underneath all of it — GA4, Google Tag Manager and server-side tracking.
You're one person. What if the project needs more?
Then I bring in people I've worked with for years — specialists from the other SEM disciplines, and developers for tracking implementations or changes to your site. You get the capacity the project needs, and you still deal with one person who is accountable for the outcome.
Where are your clients based?
Anywhere the campaigns need English, German or Spanish. Most are in German-speaking Europe, Spain and Latin America, but the work is remote by default and language matters more than location. On-site visits are possible when a project calls for them.
What does it cost?
Fees depend on scope, so they're quoted on inquiry rather than listed. A short intro call is free and usually enough for both of us to tell whether the engagement makes sense.
Can you act as our interim head of online marketing?
Yes — that's one of the three ways I work. I take the strategic seat, steer your existing agencies and freelancers, and own the reporting, without the cost of a senior full-time hire.
Can you help us run campaigns in-house with AI?
That's a growing part of the work. I set up an AI-assisted system inside your company so your team can manage and analyse Google Ads and Meta campaigns and generate any report they need themselves. For the genuinely complex questions, you bring me back in.
Next step

Tell me what isn't working. I'll tell you if I can fix it.

A free 30-minute call, in German, English or Spanish. If I'm not the right person for the problem, I'll say so — and usually point you somewhere better.
